Summary

All assessments do not fit neatly into a discipline nor are they easily categorized. Examples of such assessments include: Views about Science Survey (VASS), Force Concept Inventory, SEI, Concept Inventory of Natural Selection (CINS), and many more every week. The Views About Science Survey (VASS), as an example, catalogs student opinions of science. Although this survey exists in multiple forms (biology, physics, chemistry and math), questions are not easily categorized by a discipline's ontology.

Preconditions

  • The database can store an assessment.
  • An assessment item can be devoid of categorization from an ontology.

Basic course of events

  • Faculty member uploads a concept inventory or VASS.
